The Obuasi Municipal Director of Education, Johnny Owusu-Boadi, has warned private schools not to operate without regard to laid down rules and regulations of the Ghana Education Service (GES). "The GES recognizes and encourages private participation in education but at the same time will not compromise on private schools operating with no regard to laid down rules and regulations", he said.
Addressing an open day of the First Baptist Basic School at Obuasi, Owusu-Boadi said his visit to over 100 private schools in the municipality revealed that some of the schools needed to improve their facilities and operations. He added that the child could receive quality education only when the key stakeholders play their expected roles.
